Mission Statement
The Mission of St. Luke's Episcopal Church is to live in Christ, to love the World, and to serve one another.
What should I expect?
Expect to be warmly greeted by members of the parish and offered a service bulletin for the day's worship. The bulletin refers to the exact page numbers in the Book of Common Prayer found in the pew rows. The first part of the service includes hymns, prayers, Scripture readings, a sermon, a financial offering, the sign of peace and announcements. The second part of our worship is the Holy Communion, in which we receive blessed Bread and Wine as the Real Presence of Christ. All are welcome to come forward to receive the elements or a prayer of blessing. The Book of Common Prayer and the bulletin serve as guides for the service. Any children who begin in the nursery and wish to join the congregation are welcomed during the peace and announcements portion so that they may receive a prayer of blessing during the Communion. Where are you located?
St. Luke's is located in Ada at the intersection of Broadway and East 17th. A parking lot sits to the East of the Church and additional parking is along the street.
What do you have for families with children?
Families with children are welcome during the service and some services have special performances by the youth of St. Luke's. A nursery is also available during the service for children who would prefer to play or nap. The restrooms are equipped with changing stations for infants and toddlers. Sunday School classes for ages 4 and up are available following the 9:00 service and begins at 10:20 am. The St. Luke's youth group also meets regularly and includes a variety of social activities for all ages.
What should I wear?
All are welcome at St. Luke's. Although, as a whole, the congregation tends to dress on the formal side, you should also feel comfortable in jeans, and some regular attendees wear jeans or more casual attire. What is important is that you feel comfortable and know that you are welcome.
What do I do before or after the service?
Plan to arrive early and enjoy a cup of coffee and donuts or stay after the service and have coffee and pastries or other delicious home baked treats provided by parishioners. After the service, there is a social break followed by Christian formation. The youth proceed to their classrooms for Sunday School and the adults have two and sometimes three options for Bible study, a contemporary study club or the Inquirer's class to learn about the Christian faith, and St. Luke's specifically.
How do I get involved?
Although St. Luke's is a small parish, we have a big community impact and a lot of opportunity for you. We have a wide range of ministries to get involved in and many roles that should appeal to the individual talents and interests of our members. Take a look at the Ministries page and contact the parish office or any of the Vestry members to become involved.
Service Schedule:
Worship is the primary speech of God's people. We believe that worshiping in a community is important for ourselves, our souls and bodies, and for the welfare and peace of the world. Whenever we worship God together, we are a powerful force for the Lord, enlivened to do ministry in the world on behalf of Christ.

Wednesdays at 6 p.m. - The Holy Eucharist, Rite II with Unction and Healing Prayers or Evening Prayer
