"All Creatures Great and Small" VBS Coming May 28-30!!
Plans are well underway for a really awesome Vacation Bible School for our children and their friends in the Ada community.
Our dates and times for this event are May 28-30th, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm each day. There will be an excursion to an
animal farm, singing, skits, puppetry, arts and crafts, and an animal show-and-tell, as we celebrate the great gifts God has
given into our care. Lunch will be served each day. Don't miss out on all the fun! Registration forms are available at St.
Luke's Parish Office, Yerby Appliance, and Gem Jewelers.
VBS Planning Meeting on May 13th
There will be a second Vacation Bible School planning meeting in the parish library on Tuesday evening, May 13th, at
6:30 pm. All of our volunteers need to be present for our continued planning, especially for group activities and craft ideas.
Come join the fun!
Vestry Meeting Postponed to May 20th
Because of the need for VBS volunteers to meet on May 13th, the monthly Vestry meeting has been changed to Tuesday
Evening, May 20, at 6:30 pm.
Adult Class Discussing "I Refuse to Lead a Dying Church"
Using the book I Refuse to Lead a Dying Church, by The Rev. Paul Nixon, the Adult Christian Formation Class has begun a
discussion of the first few chapters. The Adult Class meets in the parish library on Sunday at 9:15 am. This is a very
challenging book written to all mainline denominations that find their congregations dwindling and in need of change.

Reserve May 18th on your Calendar...The Bishop is Coming!
The Rt. Rev. Edward Konieczny will be visiting St. Luke's for the very first time to
Confirm and Receive members into the Church. We are really looking forward
to having Bishop Ed with us. Members should make every effort to be with us
for this grand occasion. On that Sunday there will be only one service at
10:30 am, with a Bishop's Forum at 9:00 am in which we will discuss Paul Nixon's
book I Refuse to Lead a Dying Church. Following our 10:30 am service there will be a
potluck dinner in which our members are encouraged to bring a side dish that will
complement brisket. Desserts will also be needed.
